![]() S60v5 has UDP (User-Data Preservation), so you can update without backing up and EVERYTHING will still be there after the update whether its via NSU or FOTA. 3 of the FW updates on my 5800xm were done via FOTA, each took around 10-15mins via HSDPA to download and install. It also depends if your network has released if its a branded phone. Well I dislike that but someone else might like it if i sell the handset on next yearĪll S60v5 devices get updates on both FOTA and NSU (NOKIA Software Updater), the new FW for X was only just released it will take a few days maybe even weeks to get on FOTA. Lastime i didn't backup I lost Spiderman 2 Movie of my N95-2 If I proceed with a Update I will have to learn how to backup the content of the phone, Half an hour bet your battery was flat aye? I took about half an hour using 3G network. I managed to successfully updated the firmware of Nokia N86 FOTA when I had it. Why don't you do that? Some networks might not let you do it. It hardly ever works & it's best just doing it via pc on Nokia Software updater. So just wanted to know have any of you been sucessful in getting aįOTA for your handset without connecting to Nokia PC Suite? ![]() Phones ive never had it update on accord. The Phone Self Update has never really found any updates even with past S60 First of all FOTA mean (Firmware over the air)Īnyway just curious apparentley theres a update for myphone however ![]()
